Update: Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 10, near Womack, in Orange County on Sunday, July 22.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will start enforcement efforts across the state focusing specifically on violations of the state’s Move Over/Slow Down law. Periodic enforcement operations by DPS Troopers are planned throughout the year at various locations in Texas, with several operations planned in June. According to a press release, one of those operations will take place in the Beaumont District throughout the day on Wednesday, June 20. The Department of Transportation will be participating in a non-enforcement capacity.

A multi-vehicle crash occurred on SH 87 in Orange County near the Sabine River Authority offices the morning of Tuesday, June 19.

A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Orange County sent three to the hospital the morning of Monday, June 4. 

Initial reports from the Texas Department of Safety indicate that a Toyota passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 followed by an Infinity SUV.  For an unknown reason, the driver of the Toyota struck a concrete barrier.  After striking the barrier, the vehicle traveled back into traffic and was struck by the Infinity.

A pickup truck and 18-wheeler were involved in a crash near the intersection of FM 105 and FM 1132 in Orange County Monday, May 14.

Sergeant Stephanie Davis of Texas Department of Public Safety reported that a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling southbound on FM 105 followed by a 1997 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer. As the driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck began to stop for a traffic light, his vehicle was rear-ended by the 18-wheeler.

A motorcycle crash on US 96 in Hardin County, three miles south of Silsbee, claimed the life of a Louisiana woman on Saturday, May 12, reports Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Stephanie Davis.

A Beaumont man riding a motorcycle died in a one-vehicle accident in Orange County on April 22.

At approximately 3 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Orange County.  The crash occurred near mile marker 870 and involved a motorcycle.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10.  For an unknown reason, the driver lost control and fell off the motorcycle.

A man was struck in traffic at SH 62 in Orange County, near the Mauriceville Volunteer Fire Department, on March 8.

The state highway 87/16th street exit on Interstate 10 in Orange will close for one year due to a reconstruction project, according to Sarah Dupre of The Department of Public Safety. DPS encourages drivers to use the Business 90 exit and travel the frontage road.

John Bourgeois II, 30, of Port Neches, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital March 4 after he crashed on Interstate 10 in a Chevrolet pickup truck.
