On Oct. 16, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported a multiple vehicle crash on SH 73 in Jefferson County.  The crash occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. near SH 87.

At the time, troopers stated that there were four vehicles involved in two separate crashes in the westbound traffic lanes of SH 73. Injuries had been reported, but the extent of those injuries had not been confirmed. Motorists were urged to use caution while traveling in the area and to stay alert for emergency vehicles and slow or stopped traffic.

Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) are investigating an accident involving two motorcycles Sept. 24, reports Sgt. Stephanie Davis.

According to Davis, troopers responded to reports of a major accident on I-10 in Jefferson County near mile marker 834 at about 9 p.m.

After failing to verify information required for his sex offender registry and violating other terms of his probation, convicted counterfeiter and child molester Christopher Shaun Drucker, 37, of Orange, was arrested Sept. 12 following investigations by The Examiner, the Orange Police Department, the Pinehurst Police Department and the Orange County Probation Office.

No one officially knew where Christopher Drucker, a registered sex offender and convicted felon, was living until an investigation by The Examiner ensued. He is now residing safely behind bars at the Orange County Jail, and could face years in prison for violating his probation.

Neighbors living on Amaryllis Avenue in Orange say, though they received notification that registered sex offender and convicted counterfeiter Christopher Shaun Drucker is living on their street, he isn’t and has not been there for months.

A multi-vehicle crash on I-10 resulted in the death of 45-year-old Lake Charles man Dennis Carlin the morning of Thursday, Sept. 20.

A traffic alert was released by DPS for Chambers County.

The update stated that I-10 westbound at FM1663 is currently closed due to an accident. It also encouraged drivers to, use an alternate route.

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) issued a warning for drivers to use caution after a crash in Jasper County lead to a vehicle roll over.

According to a press release rom DPS, Preliminary reports indicate that a 2016 BMW passenger vehicle was traveling northbound on US-96.  Due to the inclement weather and wet road conditions, the driver lost control and traveled off the roadway.  The vehicle rolled over before coming to rest in a ditch.

Four people are dead and another seriously injured following a Sept. 3 wreck in Tyler County involving two pickup trucks, one of which was towing an RV, reports Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Stephanie Davis.

Interstate 10 in Jefferson County proved to be a dangerous place, with three separate accidents involving 18-wheelers, with one including a fatality, occurring Tuesday, Aug. 21. 

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported the three separate incidents with all three causing road closures. The first two incidents happened in opposite sides of traffic near Gator Country and occurred within roughly an hour of each other.
