The driver of a truck pulling a boat lost control of his haul resulting in a two-vehicle accident in Jasper County at about 7 p.m. on Sept. 27, reports Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper Stephanie Davis.

UPDATED: A traffic collision at approximately 6:00 a.m. this morning on Friday, September 18, 2015 has resulted in at least one fatality. 

According to trooper Stephanie Davis, the two-vehicle crash on Highway 73 just west of FM 366 in Jefferson County occurred in the eastbound lanes of Highway 73 near the Taft Street exit.

A head-on collision in front of the DuPont Plant in Orange County sent three people to a Beaumont emergency room on Aug. 3, one of whom was flown to the hospital via medical helicopter due to the severity of injuries she sustained in the wreck, reports the Texas Department of Public Safety.

A Newton County motorcycle accident claimed the life of a Vidor man on July 31, reports the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to a news release from Trooper Stephanie Davis, at approximately 8:00 p.m. that evening, 37-year-old Henry McIntyre of Vidor was traveling westbound on FM 1004 on his 1996 Honda motorcycle. As the vehicle went into a curve on FM 1004 near CR 3089 in Newton County, McIntyre reportedly lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected.

Two Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies and a DPS trooper received Heroic Efforts awards July 27 for life-saving endeavors on behalf of a man trapped inside a burning car after a June 29 accident.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is lowering the speed limit on Highway 12 in Orange County.

According to a news release from DPS, the speed limit along SH 12 will be lowered from 75 mph to 65 mph beginning Monday, Aug. 3, "as a result of a recent speed study." Drivers are urged to drive cautiously and adjust their habits to reflect the change.
