Twelve Southeast Texans were indicted and arrested on federal racketeering charges in connection with a “whites only” drug distribution ring, according to an announcement by U.S Attorney John M. Bales on March 11. Four of the defendants named in the indictment also face capital murder charges.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Officers, along with the Orange County Area Law Enforcement SWAT Team, executed a narcotics search and arrest warrant in the 1800 block of Concord Road in Vidor shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday, April 20, arresting two people and confiscating drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Officers from the Orange Police Department Narcotics Division, the Pinehurst Police Department and the Orange County Pct. 2 Constable’s Office executed a search warrant at 2309 Riverside Dr. in Orange, only to be met with gunfire, according to reports from the OPD.
