Elmo Willard library

The Elmo Willard Library will be offering a winter break activity for kids age 6-12 called "Fun Time / STEM time" as part of the library's ongoing effort to educate children about science, technology, engineering and math.

These introductions to STEM topics take place once a month, the library said in an announcement.

“Density,” January's activity, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 4:30 p.m.

"How do you determine density with floating eggs and rainbows? Stop by on January 18 to find out," library staff said.

The Elmo Willard Branch Library is sponsoring the annual Aspiring Artist Exhibit, which opens on August 1 and closes on August 29.

On Monday, August 21, 2017, a total eclipse of the sun will be visible in the continental United States for the first time in almost 40 years, City of Beaumont spokesperson Rosanna Mojica said in a release.

The L.E.A.R.N. (Lewis Educational and Recreational Nonprofit) and the Elmo Willard Branch Library have teamed up to offer a babysitting class for participants ages 12 through 18 on Monday, July 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no charge for the class.

As part of the Beaumont Library system's summer reading program this year, the Elmo Willard Library announced their activity schedule in a release. All activities are free and open to the public.

Juanda Bryant has written a book to help children with a parent who has been deployed deal with the absence of a parent and will be holding a book signing, City of Beaumont spokesperson Rosanna Mojica said in a release.

The Elmo Willard Branch Library is hosting Lone Star Legal Aids’ presentation to discuss wills and estate planning on Friday, May 12 at 2 p.m. Questions are welcome and encouraged.

The Elmo Willard Branch Library is proud to feature Shaun Best, a local Beaumont resident, who experienced a traumatic brain injury when he was a child, City of Beaumont administrative assistant Rosanna Mojica said in a release. Best has made it his mission to inform others about his injury and discuss his experiences, and the importance of avoiding any kind of brain injury.
