A motorcycle accident has claimed the life of one man, police in Beaumont report.

According to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department, the BPD Traffic Unit is investigating a motorcycle fatality accident that occurred Saturday, June 28, at approximately 6:05 p.m. in the 100 block of East Cardinal (Hwy 69). A single Motor Cycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

An auto-pedestrian accident in the 8400 block of U.S. 69 in Port Arthur on Feb. 25 at about 10:25 p.m. resulted in the death of 50-year-old Port Arthur resident Lester "LC" Cowart.

According to a news release from PAPD, officers responded to the accident and determined that a person attempting to cross the freeway on foot was struck by a vehicle in the northbound lanes of traffic.
