Beaumont Fire-Rescue received a call of a vehicle fire on Nov. 5, 2016 around 6 p.m. at the city fleet services on Lafin Road. When fire units arrived, three garbage trucks and two police patrol cars were on fire.

At approximately 12:15p.m. Wednesday, June 15, the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of an 18-wheeler on fire in the eastbound traffic lanes of Interstate 10 in Orange County near mile marker 871. An International truck tractor semi-trailer towing live chickens experienced a tire blowout that sparked a fire.  At the time of the crash, the vehicle was transporting approximately 6,000 chickens.

About 2,000 chickens died in the fire.
