A fire at a Beaumont residence has displaced a local family and left them searching for their lost pets, reports the Beaumont Fire-Rescue.

According to a news release from Captain Jimmy Blanchard, fire units responded to a report of smoke coming from a house in the 2200 block of Neches Street at about 1 p.m. Dec. 19.

Beaumont Fire-Rescue welcomed nine new firefighters to its ranks and celebrated longtime service and several promotions, including one promotion to captain, during a ceremony at the department’s headquarters at 400 Walnut St. in Beaumont on Nov. 2.

Chief Anne Huff, who received her 30-year pin during the ceremony, greeted fellow fire staff and their families at the pavilion on Walnut Street.

Beaumont firefighters extinguished a rapidly expanding house fire at a residence in the 2200 block of Cable Street on the morning of Feb. 19, Beaumont Fire-Rescue reports, after two adult occupants escaped the blaze without injury.

Firefighters doused a blaze at a home in Beaumont the morning of March 24 but not before the fire caused extensive damage to the residence.

According to a news release, just after 8:00 a.m., Beaumont Fire-Rescue units responded to a structure fire in the 5300 block of Heatherwood Drive. When firefighters arrived, they found flames licking out through the roof of the home. The lone occupant was able to escape without injury before firefighters arrived, but there was heavy fire damage to the attic and roof of the home.
