Beaumont ISD to live stream graduation ceremonies

All three high school campuses of the Beaumont Independent School District will host graduation ceremonies at the Lamar University Montagne Center, 4400 MLK Parkway in Beaumont, on Saturday, June 3. For those who cannot be there in person, the district will also host all three ceremonies live online for remote viewing at https://livestream.com/BISDTV.

BISD reports that West Brook High School will graduate at 9 a.m., Central Medical Magnet High School will graduate at 1 p.m., and Ozen Magnet High School will graduate at 5 p.m.

DPS graduates 102 State Troopers in Austin

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety commissioned 102 men and women as Highway Patrol troopers during the recruit graduation ceremony. Attorney General Greg Abbott was the keynote speaker during the ceremony, which was held at Great Hills Baptist Church.

The new troopers will report to duty stations across Texas in the coming weeks and spend the first six months in on-the-job training.

Lamar University to confer almost 1,200 degrees Saturday, Dec. 15

Lamar University is scheduled to confer 1,193 degrees at fall commencement Saturday, Dec. 15, in the Montagne Center. Community activist Regina Rogers will be the keynote speaker.
