Harbor Hospice Jasper facility under construction

Harbor Hospice is expanding its footprint to the Jasper area. The hospice care provider is building a new, 13,367 square-foot in-patient facility at 1440 FM 777 in Jasper.

According to Harbor Hospice, construction began in January 2017 and is expected to be completed this spring. The contractor for the job is BEGA Design + Construction out of Houston. According to the city of Jasper, the cost of the project is $600,000.

Harbor Hospice held a ribbon cutting Friday, May 5, to celebrate the opening of a new location at 2200 Highway 365, Suite 101, in Nederland.

Harbor Hospice Administrator Brenna Rodriguez said the location has actually been in operation since October 2016.

Experience 1950s steamy Havana Nights with rum, rumba and romance during Harbor Foundation’s seventh annual Dinner for Life Gala honoring hospice spiritual counselors on Friday, Nov. 4, at the Event Centre in downtown Beaumont at 7 p.m. This gala fundraiser will include Cuban cuisine, Latin entertainment, live music from Champagne Room, and a silent auction. Individual tickets are $150, and a table for eight is $2,500.


Andrew Miles, 88, one of the first 20,000 African-Americans to enter the United States Marine Corps in 1944, was honored Thursday, June 12, in a ceremony in his room at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont as part of the hospice center’s veterans program.
