Galveston County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of an accidental shooting on Sunday, July 30 in the 4700 block of 6th St. in Bacliff, Texas, Sheriff Henry Trochesset said in a release. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office has charged two individuals that were involved in the shooting that resulted in the death of a Galveston County resident, Sheriff Henry Trochesset said in a release.

May 9 at about 9:30 a.m., the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to man who was acting suspicious, Sheriff Henry Trochesset said in a release.

The man was reportedly pacing back and forth on the High Island Bridge.

When units arrived, it was discovered that he did jump from the bridge into the intracoastal canal. He was assisted by an unidentified person to the shoreline.

He was later transported to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston by medical helicopter. He suffered a broken leg and other possible injuries.
