Police in Port Arthur are investigating a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian in critical condition at a local hospital, reports the Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD).

UPDATE: Victim identified, suspect found

Beaumont Police Traffic investigators identified the victim as Reginald Allen Osborne, a 46-year-old Vidor resident. Investigators were initially searching for the driver involved in the crash but have since identified the person. Charges are pending.

An arrest has been made in a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a Moss Bluff woman early Monday, Nov. 27, Louisiana State Troop D said in a release.

Vidor Police have arrested the man they believe is responsible for the hit-and-run death of a grandmother leaving Texas Maze of Terror with her family, police said Nov. 2.

A man who claimed his fiancée was struck by a car was arrested after police watched surveillance video they say depicted, not a hit-and-run accident but rather a violent and brutal attack perpetrated by the victim’s betrothed.

Police arrested a Vidor man Aug. 14 after he reportedly struck a vehicle from behind, bolted from the scene of the accident and then assaulted a responding officer who followed a trail of car parts to find the fleeing suspect.

According to a report from the Vidor Police Department, a caller reported that while stopped at the intersection of Old Highway 90 East and the I-10 service road in his Ford F-150, a silver Nissan Versa struck his vehicle from behind and kept driving.

After sentencing former West Orange-Stark Assistant Coach Carl Broussard, 54, to 10 years probation Monday, May 15, for charges related to a fatal car accident that claimed the lives of a young mother and her 6-year-old daughter, Judge Buddie Hahn has now ordered Broussard to spend 180 days in the Orange County Jail up front.

Broussard pleaded guilty earlier this year to two counts of failure to stop and render aid after fatally striking 25-year-old Ava Nicole Lewis and her daughter Lamya Janise Newhouse with his vehicle on Nov. 2, 2015.

On Monday, March 27, Beaumont Police responded to the 6300 block of College Street, in reference to checking the welfare of a person laying in the ditch on the side of the road, Officer Haley Morrow reported.

Lumberton police are asking for anyone with any information or who may have witnessed an accident to come forward, the department posted on their Facebook page on Feb. 17.
