Hardin County Jail escapee Donavin Michael Cantwell has been captured in Harris County, near Channelview, Sheriff Mark Davis said in a release Aug. 17.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an escape that occurred at the Hardin County Jail.

Donavin Michael Cantwell, 28, was charged with the felony offenses of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading detention and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

June 22 at about 5 a.m., Cantwell was able to move past guards and exit the jail during the morning feeding activity. Video surveillance captured the event.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an escape that occurred at the Hardin County Jail.

Donavin Michael Cantwell, 28, was charged with the felony offenses of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading detention and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

He is described as white male, 5-11 and weighing 160 pounds, with very short brown hair, blue eyes and a heavy, short heard.

News release from the U.S. Attorney's Office:

Three individuals, including two federal inmates, have been indicted in connection with an escape from a Federal Correctional Complex in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales May 5.

Todd Allen Hammer, 40, and Jason Wesley Tate, 44, both federal inmates housed in Beaumont, Texas, and Lorna Leslie, 55, of Sherman, Texas, were indicted by a federal grand jury on Apr. 4, 2016, and charged with escaping from federal custody and conspiracy to escape from federal custody.
