All westbound lanes on Interstate 10 at mile marker 859 were closed for over an hour on the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 4, due to a diesel spill that resulted from a three-vehicle accident.

A major wreck on Interstate 10 forced Beaumont police to close the eastbound lanes on the evening of Feb. 19, the Beaumont Police Department reports.

UPDATE:

The Interstate near the Goodyear plant is now open from earlier 18-wheeler crash.The driver, 39-year-old Eugene Singleton of Alabama, was not injured in the accident.

The Texas Department of Pubic Safety reports that a major accident on Interstate 10 in Orange County has resulted in unknown injuries to the parties involved and lane closure on the westbound side of the interstate. At approximately 6:40 a.m., there was a two vehicle crash on Interstate 10 at Highway 12 in Orange County.  One of the vehicles involved was an truck tractor semi-trailer.

Two of four vehicles affected by an oil spill caused by a vehicle's faulty crankshaft collided after hitting the slick roadway on Interstate 10 West at Brush Island Road on Jan. 9 at about 3:50 p.m. causing the westbound lanes to close for hours, reports Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Stephanie Davis.

As of 2:40 p.m. on Jan. 24, Neches River bridge traffic was at a standstill.

UPDATE (7:31 p.m. Jan. 24, 2014): The Beaumont Police Department issued the following update on Beaumont Traffic operations. All highways in Beaumont had reopened, including Interstate 10, the Eastex Freeway, Cardinal Drive, and MLK Parkway. The Purple Heart Memorial Bridge over the Neches River was open, as well.
