Atayanna Douglas, 18, who claimed to have information on the Capital Murders of Kera and Kyndal Teel, was released from custody Nov. 28 for lack of evidence tying her to three counts of aggravated robbery for crimes that took place at or around the time of the shooting deaths of the mother and child.

When pregnant mother Kera Teel was shot and killed in June, the Southeast Texas community was stunned and police relentlessly pursued numerous leads in an attempt to identify and apprehend the perpetrators who fled the scene following the abhorrent act.

One week ago, Kera Teel’s family held a press conference at the police station in downtown Beaumont and made an emotional plea for help finding the killers who shot the young, pregnant mother, snuffing out the lives of Kera and her infant Kyndal Teel, who was born but later died at the hospital following the attack.
