Jefferson County's newest prosecutor was sworn in inside Jefferson County's Criminal District Court Monday, April 14. 

Cory Kneeland, a 10-year prosecutor and 2003 Texas Tech University law grad, began his career as a criminal attorney in Hale County, according to a press release from the Jefferson County District Attorney's office. 

Soon after, Kneeland was in Hardin County where he presented cases to a grand jury.

A Groves man has pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a lengthy prison term for multiple molestations of two underage girls.

A Kountze woman has pleaded guilty to stealing over $80,000 from a Beaumont restaurant where she worked as a server.

Rebecca Johnson McWhorter, 44, was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury Aug. 29 for felony theft.

A Beaumont man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday, July 15, for shooting at a Beaumont police officer after a brief chase in November 2011.



Ronald Guilbeaux, 53 (born Feb. 11, 1959), last known addresses 902 Fulton in Beaumont and 450 Ozen St., St. Landry, La., was sentenced Friday Aug. 31, to a term of 50 years in the penitentiary in connection with his July 11, 2012, conviction by a jury of aggravated sexual assault of a child in the 2011 rape of a 5-year-old child at his Beaumont residence.
