The Symphony of Southeast Texas (SOST) brings the magic of the well-known “Cirque” acrobats and performers front and center to the Julie Rogers Theatre stage, alongside the orchestra as they kick off their 64th season, for a thrilling evening Saturday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m.

The “On Purpose” Tour featuring country music star Clint Black comes to Beaumont on Thursday, Aug. 4, with Black appearing inside the Julie Rogers Theatre (765 Pearl) in downtown Beaumont at 7 p.m. Tickets are $43-$65. A member of the Grand Ole Opry who was raised in nearby Katy, Black will have his entire band supporting him, so expect to hear several of his 22 No.

When Lenny Caballero was named City of Beaumont event facility coordinator in June of 2013, he had a vision.

“Some of my goals when I became director of event facilities was to hire the best staff in the world, bring quality entertainment at affordable prices and bring people to downtown Beaumont,” he said.

Just this year, Caballero and staff has hosted concerts such as Pat Benatar, the Beach Boys and Jerry Lee Lewis.

A great time is to be had by all Friday, July 8, when the Love & Laughter Comedy Show Concert takes place at the Julie Rogers Theatre, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20-$30 and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or the Beaumont Civic Center box office. The “love” will come through a performance by four-time Grammy nominated R&B singer Tank.

The Julie Rogers Theatre in downtown Beaumont is set to host two big country music acts beginning Thursday, Aug. 4, with Clint Black, followed by Dwight Yoakam on Friday, Aug. 19.

The Ruxpins

The Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting its annual “Celebrate Independence Day” on Monday, July 4, beginning at 7 p.m. with a live concert from the local Americana rock act The Ruxpins at the Riverfront Pavilion.

At 9 p.m. an unbelievable fireworks show will light up the Orange sky. The event is free and there will be plenty of kids events, snow cones, drinks and more. No pets are allowed.
