Beaumont narcotics detectives and officers with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have reportedly recovered 41 pounds of what they believe to be synthetic marijuana hidden inside a local auto repair shop and arrested one suspect in connection to a federal search warrant executed Sept. 7, Beaumont Police Department Officer Carol Riley reported.

The Beaumont Police Department is mourning the loss of a four-legged "brother in blue" as K-9 Nicky died over the weekend, Sgt. Cody Guedry reports.

A motorcycle traveling through Evadale reportedly lost control Oct. 14 when the driver repeatedly looked back at a patrol car while operating the vehicle, reports the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. The man on the motorcycle then fled, but JCSO K-9 Baron tracked the suspect down for pursuing deputies.

Deputies had to call out the dogs to locate two suspects who fled after narcotics investigators with the Orange County Sheriff's Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at approximately 6:30 p.m. near Orangefield, according to a news release from OCSO.
