A 21-year-old Mexican national living in Liberty, Texas, has been indicted and charged with federal violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown Sept. 5.

Juan Carlos Saucedo-Meza was indicted by a federal grand jury and charged with kidnapping.

Cell phones in the Houston area lit up Jan. 1 with an Amber Alert for two missing girls from Round Rock: Luluvioletta Mariposo Bandera-Magret, 7, and Lilianais Victoria Cake Griffith, 14.

The girls were taken by Terry Allen Miles, who was a person of interest in their mother’s death, Round Rock police explained in news releases and press conferences.

The Amber Alert advised the public to look for a gray 2017 Hyundai Accent with Texas license plate number JGH9845.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Port Arthur Police Department are investigating the reported kidnapping and robbery of an Orange attorney that is said to have occurred in the early morning hours of May 8, said OCSO.

Police are investigating a Feb. 2 report of an aggravated kidnapping in Beaumont and a possible connection between the assailant and two victims, who were found unharmed following the incident, reports Officer Haley Morrow.

UPDATE: Kristofer Garcia, 22, of Beaumont was found guilty of murder in the Jan. 19, 2015 shooting death of Rhydan Bolton, 19, a student at Lamar University. The jury later sentenced Garcia to 60 years in prison and a $10,000.00 fine.
