The Board of Directors and administrative staff of the Nelda C. and H.J. Lutcher Stark Foundation congratulate the winners of the 2018 County Finals of the 114th Miriam Lutcher Stark Contest in Reading and Declamation. Sunday, April 29, 2018, students who had previously won first place at the various local level competitions held at each of the five Orange County public high schools competed in the categories of Declamation and Interpretive Reading at the County Finals held at the Lutcher Theater.

From “Kinky Boots to Cinderella slippers” the upcoming Lutcher Theater season presents 13 incredible and diverse events, including eight Broadway shows, an unprecedented musical act, contemporary dance, a spectacular holiday family event and the ever-popular fall outdoor concert event, Symphony at Shangri La featuring the Symphony of Southeast Texas.

For 28 years, Jim Clark has greeted Lutcher Theater patrons in the lobby as they gathered to experience performing arts events together. April 15, Clark presented the national tour of “Once” as his finale at the Lutcher and exited to begin retirement.

It’s time for the 2017 Follies presented by the Service League of Orange on Saturday, April 29, at 7 p.m. at the Lutcher Theater in Orange. This event features a salute to Hee Haw, which was a television variety show intertwined with Country music and humorous skits that ran for more than 25 years. There will be live music, corny jokes, the Hee Haw Honeys, special guests and all the favorite Hee Haw characters. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at 2017follies.com or at the door.
