There was no tape draped across a finish line, but NASA is celebrating a win. The agency’s Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity completed its first Red Planet marathon Tuesday, March 24 – 26.219 miles (42.195 kilometers) – with a finish time of roughly 11 years and two months.

On Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Biggest Loser Half Marathon/5K will be in Beaumont beginning at The Event Center at 7:00 a.m. The route will wind through downtown Beaumont and include areas near the Port of Beaumont, UTMB on Washington, and the Park and Pennsylvania underpasses.
