With Harvey dominating our lives and canceling most events, even delaying the start to school and high school football, there are plenty of coming concerts to help ease your mind, if only for a few hours, in downtown Beaumont.

Only a handful of tickets remain for a unique concert titled “An Open Book: An Evening with Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October” on Saturday, Sept. 30, inside the historic Jefferson Theatre at 8 p.m.

Actor and comedian Mike Epps is set to bring his hilarious comedic act to Beaumont at the Julie Rogers Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 21. Epps grew to fame in the mid 90s through his appearances on the Def Comedy Jam series then got his movie break in 1999 co-starring with Ice Cube as Day-Day Jones in Next Friday and Friday After Next. He went on to star in such movies like The Hangover, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, The Hangover III, Next Day Air and next year will return to the big screen as Day-Day Jones in Last Friday. Tickets are $69-$44.50 and go on sale Friday, July 14, at 10 a.m.
