The search to find a missing Alzheimer patient has ended, and unfortunately, it has not ended well. At around 8:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a body had been discovered in the LNVA canal at the end of Sandringhamnear China.

The dogs all followed the odor of decay to the canal, said JCSO Deputy Rod Carroll.
