A 32-year-old Vidor, Texas man was sentenced today for his role in a March 2011 murder committed in furtherance of the SWS criminal enterprise in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today, Oct. 28.

Kenny Don Stanley pleaded guilty on June 25, 2013, to murder in aid of racketeering and was sentenced to life in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.

A Groves man has pleaded guilty to murdering his close friend in a drug-fueled rage.

Cody Hokett died from a shotgun wound to the chest suffered at John Mason Broadway's former residence at 3131 Cleveland St. in Groves.

Broadway, 27, was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury Sept. 6, 2012, for first degree murder in Hokett's death.

Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at 6:48 p.m. officers responded to a report of a shooting victim in front of a residence in the 2500 block of N. 10th St. in Beaumont. Witnesses stated that the shooter left walking eastbound on Hoover Street toward N. Ninth Street.

UPDATE: Detectives have identified one of the suspects in the Aug. 20 murder of Kendra Crump. In a press release, the Beaumont Police Department said police are currently attempting to locate Cameron Charles Frank, a 23-year-old Beaumont resident.

Police have arrested 20-year-old Keenan Novon Anderson of Port Arthur on a murder charge for the shooting death of Marcus “Big Country” Senegal, who was killed March 30 near the Old School Shack Lounge in Port Arthur. After searching for Anderson since March for a parole violation, police issued a murder warrant for Anderson, which was the result of a sealed indictment handed down by a grand jury on June 20.

Police say they’ve found at least two suspects responsible for a deadly Beaumont shooting.

According to a BPD press release, police have issued a capital murder warrant for 27-year-old Beaumont resident Allen Hancock, who has been incarcerated in the Jefferson County Jail for unrelated warrants since July 17.

An arrest warrant has been issued in relation to the shooting death of Marcus “Big Country” Senegal, who was killed March 30 near the Old School Shack Lounge in Port Arthur. According to Sgt. Scott Gaspard of the Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD), there is an active murder warrant for the suspect, 20-year-old Keenan Novon Anderson of Port Arthur.
