Police in Orange are investigating the death of a 28-year-old woman and have arrested a man identified as her boyfriend for murder, Orange Police Department Capt. Robert Enmon reported Oct. 25.

Earlier the same day at about 1:16 p.m., officers responded to #2 East Sunset in reference to an unresponsive female. Upon arrival to the scene, officers found medical staff attending to Stormy Stanley, who was unconscious and unresponsive. Stanley was transported to the South East Texas Medical Center by ambulance. She was pronounced deceased at 3:49 p.m.

On Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 5:22 p.m., Beaumont Police received a call in reference to a victim of a shooting in the 3900 block of Eastex Freeway, Beaumont Police Sgt. Cody Guedry said in a release.

Students at Silsbee High School wore purple Tuesday, Oct. 3 to mark what would have been Tristan Dilley’s 15th birthday, Assistant Principal David Biddle confirmed.

Dilley's death was discovered Sunday, Oct. 1, amid mysterious circumstances.


A 26-year-old Beaumont man arrested for killing a homeless woman in June has been indicted on capital murder charges by a Jefferson County Grand Jury Sept. 26.

Brandon Julian Coleman has been charged with the capital murder of 54-year-old Catherine Dungan, who was found bound at a local park and who had been sexually assaulted before being strangled to death.


Jefferson County Criminal District Attorney Bob Wortham announced Sept. 25 that Adam Emanuel Fuller, 36, pleaded guilty to murder in the January 6, 2015, shooting death of 27-year-old Derek Allen Phillips of Beaumont.

Following the shooting, the Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported that Phillips was discovered dead by his roommate at their shared residence in the 1300 block of Central Drive in Beaumont. Initial reports of the murder indicated that after waking from a nap, Phillips’ roommate found him unresponsive and bleeding profusely before calling 911 at 9:42 p.m.


A 24-year-old Beaumont man is facing murder charges after he was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury Sept. 20.

Police responded to the 3700 block of Grand Street in reference to a shooting victim at about 11 p.m. on June 29, according to the probable cause (PC) affidavit for arrest. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered a deceased male victim with gunshot wounds lying in the grassy area near the apartment complex. Police identified the man as 35-year-old Cedathion Rashard Dill. 


Robert Lewis, 62, of Beaumont, was indicted in Jefferson County for murder Sept. 20. Lewis was originally arrested for the crime on Aug. 11 after police responded to a report of a disturbance on Pine Street and found the suspect at the location with a man who had apparently been strangled.

On Saturday, August 26, the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a welfare concern for 37 year old Crystal Seratte McDowell, of west Chambers County.

Thursday, Aug. 31, at approximately 3:26 a.m., officers responded to the Travel Inn at 2690 I-10 E. in reference to a welfare check. Upon arrival, they located a woman with a gunshot wound to her head. The suspect was located shortly after police received the call. He was identified as Leroy Jackson, a 23-year-old Beaumont man. Jackson was arrested for murder and transported to Jefferson County Jail.

The victim was identified Taylor R. Matte, a 17-year-old Beaumont woman.

On August 2, around 1:30 p.m., the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an open field near the area of Creek Road and Bud Bennet Road in Starks in reference to an unknown deceased man with apparent trauma to his body, later identified as Dustin Hammons of Houston, TX.
