Police have identified a woman found apparently murdered at the La Quinta Inn on Walden Road in Beaumont on Nov. 23 as Erica Franklin, 31, from Nashville, Tennessee.

Franklin was found shot to death at the La Quinta Inn in Beaumont on Nov. 23 at about 10:15 a.m., Beaumont Police Department Officer Haley Morrow reports.

According to Morrow, police, Beaumont Fire-Rescue and EMS responded to an emergency call from the motel at 5820 Walden Rd. in Beaumont in reference to a non-responsive female. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been shot.

Beaumont man, Arthur Christopher Harmon, 23, was found guilty of the first-degree felony offense of murder and was sentenced to 45 years in prison, according to Assistant Jefferson County District Attorney Rachel Grove. The jury returned a guilty verdict after one-and-a-half hours of deliberations on Aug. 25.
