Police say they have arrested a person of interest in two cases of indecent exposure in Southeast Texas.

Monday, July 17, at about 12:19 a.m., Beaumont police responded to the 200 block of Rosine Street in reference to a victim of a shooting, Officer Haley Morrow said in a release.

Preliminary investigation reveals that two individuals were in front of a residence when they were approached by a man who displayed a handgun and attempted to rob the victims.

During the robbery, the suspect shot one of the victims, who was able to return fire. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries; it is unknown if the suspect was injured.

“Our hero!”

Shouts from volunteers at Some Other Place, who were handing out gifts to local family’s during the charity’s Christmas Giving Program Dec. 22, rang out as Officer Todd Jackson of the Beaumont Police Department walked through the door of the nonprofit’s storage warehouse after he found and returned 13 bicycles that had been stolen from the facility overnight.
