A man who had been ringing in the New Year with friends at a bar in Beaumont reportedly went missing on the ride home, and the Orange County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public assistance in locating the Buna resident, according to OCSO Criminal Investigator Janois Strause Grizzaffi.

Christopher Morgan

Christopher Morgan, 31, of Vidor has been charged with intoxication manslaughter after a fatal auto-pedestrian crash on Concord Road in Orange County on Dec. 26, according to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

A blood specimen has been submitted to the crime laboratory and toxicology results are pending, DPS Sgt. Stephanie Davis reported Dec. 28. The investigation is still ongoing.

The Orange County Commissioners’ Court will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 1:00 p.m. about requested road name changes for LaPray Lane in Vidor and Owens Illinois Road in Orange and increase in the speed limit on Lakeview Road in Vidor.

The Court “would appreciate hearing from any interested party wishing to comment,” according to a statement.”

The public hearing will be in the Commissioner’s Courtroom of the Orange County Administration Building, located at 123 South 6th Street in Orange.
