Police in Port Arthur are currently searching for suspects connected to three separate home invasion robberies that were committed in between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on April 23.

Port Arthur Police are searching for a suspect in an aggravated robbery in the 7900 block of Heatherbrook Trail that was reported on Sunday, April 20, at approximately 1:06 a.m.

According to a news release from PAPD, a female victim told police that she was held at gunpoint and her purse stolen. She reported having cash and personal items in the stolen bag. The suspect fled the area, and the woman was not injured in the incident.

Ten-year-old Tyvone Joseph Washington of Port Arthur died as the result of a weekend auto-pedestrian accident in the 8500 block of Memorial Boulevard in Port Arthur on March 29 at close to 10 p.m.., police report. The boy was reportedly going home from the mall.

Two Port Arthur ISD students crossing the road while walking to school were struck by an SUV Thursday morning, Jan. 30.

Around 7:45 a.m. PAPD officers were dispatched to 1300 Freeman Ave. in reference to an auto-pedestrian accident involving two Abraham Middle School students who were struck by an SUV in front of Washington Middle School, at the corner of 12th Street and Freeman Avenue.

A Port Arthur man was killed in a hit-and-run auto-pedestrian accident occurring in the 3200 block of 8th St. in Port Arthur Sunday, Dec. 22.

Jesse Ray Ford Jr., 31, was found dead by Port Arthur Police Department officers around 2 a.m. after receiving a call that the man was lying in the road. Port Arthur Fire Department and Acadian EMS responded to the scene as well and determined the man was dead.

Due to a recent string of thefts or attempted thefts reported in Port Arthur, Port Arthur Police are warning Southeast Texans to be cautious when approached by strangers asking for a ride.

According to a PAPD press release, in these thefts people are approached in parking lots of stores or banks, where a suspect will ask them for a ride to one of the local businesses. The suspect usually speaks with a heavy accent and claims to be from Nigeria, the press release states.
