Pet Adoption

Sasha should really be named chatty Kathy. When you walk into the cat room at the shelter, Sasha is always the first to say hello. She just loves to have conversations with BAS staff and even chirps. She’s a young, beautiful tabby cat around 8 months old and has big bright yellow eyes. Take a look at her super long tail; it is rather bushy and has really cool stripes on it. Please stop by the shelter and fill out an adoption application. The cost to adopt her is $30, and she is fully vaccinated and ready to go home with you.

Maximus, a young male blue heeler approximately 1 1/2 years old, is available for adoption. He’s current on all his vaccinations and neutered. Blue heelers are working dogs, so he’ll need a big yard or, even better, a ranch or farm setting. Heelers are herding dogs, so homes with young children are not recommended. Maximus is alert and watchful and would be a great guardian for people and property.

Lovely little Mercedes is what we call a pocket pitty. She is full-grown and only weighs 39 pounds. As you can see, her previous owners neglected to care for her skin. This condition, called demodex, is not contagious and is very easy to fix. We just know she is going to be a gorgeous young lady once her skin clears up. We think she would do best in a home with children 10 and up. She is a little particular about her doggie friends. She prefers, well ... dogs just like her!

Hi, my name is Arnie, and I am grateful for all the nice people at Beaumont Animal Services: the animal control officer who found me, the judge who didn’t let my old owners take me back, the kennel staff who give me food every day and keep my kennel clean. I am grateful for my bed. Would you believe my old bed was a pile of wood pallets? I am grateful that I will never have to feel the weight of a chain hanging from my neck again. I am grateful for all of the nice visitors who stop by my kennel, and the volunteers who give me lots of treats!

Stop clowning around and get down to the shelter to adopt Clarabelle! Clarabelle is a 1-year 8-month old Terrier mix. She was first adopted from the shelter when she was a little pup but recently her adopters brought her back. This was due to no fault of Clarabelle. She has a beautiful russet and brown coat with handsome white bib and socks. She is a small dog and ever so sweet!

This handsome young dog is Larry. Larry is a hound mix and he has the ears to prove it! He is around a year old and weighs 40 pounds. Larry likes to play with other dogs, but has been known to be a little of an attention hog. Larry has long, lean legs and a brilliant orange and brown brindle coat. Please go meet Larry (No. 26037) and all of his friends down at Beaumont Animal Services.

My name is Paul. I’m around 2-3 years young and I weigh 26 pounds. I am very sweet and very playful, so I need someone to play with me! I love running around in the yard and playing with toys. I’m good on a leash and sure would love to go on walks with you by my side. I also like to play with other dogs but like to be introduced slowly and get to know them with you by my side. If you are interested in adopting me, please come down to BAS and meet me. If you call for information, reference system No. 25340.

This little frisky fella is Leonardo. He’s definitely not a needy cat. He wouldn’t mind if you work long hours as long as you keep his food and water bowl full and his litter box clean. He’ll be delighted when you get home and might even want to snuggle with you! We believe Leonardo is around 9 months old. He currently weighs 7 pounds.  Please stop by the shelter to meet Mr. Leonardo!! Leonardo # 25815

Firecracker is a flame point Siamese mix. He will be a year old in November and has been in foster care since January. He is very socialized and plays with other cats and dogs, large and small. Being a kitten, he is very playful. Firecracker has “feline carbohydrate syndrome,” meaning he has to have foods that have no grain. Firecracker is ready for a loving home and family that is willing to commit and go extra mile and give him the proper diet.

Layla

You would just love Layla. Her foster mom says she is lovely, and we agree. Layla is a 1-year old, 53-pound golden retriever/hound mix. Layla came to the shelter due to the death of her owner. She has a medium-short length, red-colored coat. She has the appearance of a hound, especially with her long ears and pining eyes. She is super sweet with a hound’s laid-back nature.
