Pet of the Week

Gumby

Hi! Isn’t this the sweetest face you’ve seen all day? My name is Gumby, and I’m just about a year old. The staff at Beaumont Animal Services thinks I might be a plot hound/cur mix. I can’t wait to find a family of my own to hang out with. Hopefully there will be plenty of toys, and LOTS of snuggles waiting on me there. I’m full grown and weigh 45 pounds. I get compliments on my fur all the time; people just love it. I know you will, too. Please come and meet me.

Greetings, everyone! My name is House. I’m a lovely lady who is 2 years young, and I weigh 10 pounds. I’m affectionate with my human friends and sure do love to be petted. I love to watch the world go by, but I would prefer to do so in my new home. I came in with my sister but she already got adopted, so now I’m just waiting here all alone. I can be an inside/outside cat or strictly inside cat — I don’t mind either way. I’m already spayed and I’ve got all of my vaccinations. If you are interested in me, please contact BAS and ask for No. 27573.

Sasha should really be named chatty Kathy. When you walk into the cat room at the shelter, Sasha is always the first to say hello. She just loves to have conversations with BAS staff and even chirps. She’s a young, beautiful tabby cat around 8 months old and has big bright yellow eyes. Take a look at her super long tail; it is rather bushy and has really cool stripes on it. Please stop by the shelter and fill out an adoption application. The cost to adopt her is $30, and she is fully vaccinated and ready to go home with you.

Maximus, a young male blue heeler approximately 1 1/2 years old, is available for adoption. He’s current on all his vaccinations and neutered. Blue heelers are working dogs, so he’ll need a big yard or, even better, a ranch or farm setting. Heelers are herding dogs, so homes with young children are not recommended. Maximus is alert and watchful and would be a great guardian for people and property.

Lovely little Mercedes is what we call a pocket pitty. She is full-grown and only weighs 39 pounds. As you can see, her previous owners neglected to care for her skin. This condition, called demodex, is not contagious and is very easy to fix. We just know she is going to be a gorgeous young lady once her skin clears up. We think she would do best in a home with children 10 and up. She is a little particular about her doggie friends. She prefers, well ... dogs just like her!

Zara

Hi, I’m Zara. I am a full-grown dog and I weigh 50 pounds. The staff at BAS say that I’m their favorite! I’m quiet, gentle and very sweet. I don’t mind sharing my new owner’s attention with another doggie friend. And there is no such thing as petting me too much, I promise! I would be a great couch warmer; I’ll bet I can keep your favorite spot nice and cozy for you.

It’s kitten season, with tiny, fuzzy, colorful, adorable kitties available at Beaumont Animal Services for free! Starting Sept. 1 and running all month long, BAS is waving the adoption fee for any kittens under 4 months. Adult cats will have half price adoption fees! All cats at Beaumont Animal Services have been vaccinated and wormed.

Ariel

Ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog girl lookin’ for love! Is Ariel lookin’ in the right place? We sure do hope so! Ariel is a 1-year old, 49.40-pound bloodhound mix. A kind individual originally found Ariel up when she turned up as a stray and then brought her to the Humane Society shelter. She is solid deep-tan with a black muzzle and nicely draped ears.

Molly

Say hi to Molly! Molly is ready to find her forever home. Her previous owner says that her mother was a beautiful German Shepard and the father was a Leopard Catahoula. Molly was born May 17, 2015, and is current on all of her vaccinations. She knows basic commands. She does very well with children and other dogs and is extremely nurturing to small dogs and puppies. She has not had puppies of her own and needs to be fixed. Molly is very protective and alert but not at all aggressive.

Hello, friends! My name is Dunkin, and I am a goofy, playful young male Great Dane mix. I have big feet and a bigger heart. I already weigh 60 pounds, and I’m still getting bigger. I can’t wait to find a family that will love me from my nose to my toes! Dunkin No. 26951
