Due to Hurricane Harvey, the Beaumont Art League was unable to host an opening reception for the Lief Anson Wallace solo photography exhibition Visions of China: Ancient to Modern, so BAL will now have a closing reception Saturday, Oct. 7, from 7-9 p.m.

Because of the success of our blacksmith and bladesmith classes, we added basic photography and leather working classes taught by professionals in each trade.

The High Street Gallery will host an exhibition of photography by Lacie Grant on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 7-10 p.m. inside the Victoria House (2110 Victoria St.) in Beaumont.

James Evans, Big Bend photographer, comes to the McFaddin-Ward House sharing his wit, humor, and life’s work capturing images of the formidable national park in South Texas on Thursday, July 21, from 6:30-8 p.m. Evans fell in love with Big Bend on a hiking trip 28 years ago, so he set up camp … permanently. He’s been taking stunning pictures ever since, has authored two books, and finally got married this year.

The High Street Gallery will host an exhibition of photography by Randy Edwards from 7-11 p.m. on Friday, June 24. The gallery is in Victoria House, 2110 Victoria St. in Beaumont.

Edwards describes himself as a Southeast Texas artist with a self-taught hobby in photography. He became interested in darkroom work, falling in love with black and white film photography in high school before attending Lamar University.
