Suspects in an October case of theft

Nederland Police Department is asking for the publics help in identifying two suspects in a case of theft, which occurred Wednesday, Oct. 10 2018.

Port Arthur Police released a reminder Tuesday, Nov. 6 that any one who suspects that they have an outstanding warrant can check online by visiting www.portarhturtx.gov/315/warrants.com .

The website allows you to search by name and any with an outstanding warrant can pay online at www.patrafficpay.com, however, you must have the citation number. Those who wish to pay by phone can call (1800) 444-1187.

Police in Port Arthur are searching for suspects after two armed robbers got away with cash stolen from a local convenience store on Oct. 19, reports the Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD).

According to Sgt. Heather Rowe, two armed male subjects confronted an employee who was closing the business, located in the 6700 block of West Port Arthur Road, and demanded money. The employee complied and contacted police after the robbery. There were no injuries reported.

A Port Arthur police car ran into a building in the 700 block of Gulfway Drive, in the early morning hours of Oct. 19.  According to Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the patrol unit was traveling eastbound on Gulfway in Port Arthur and traveled off the roadway for reasons unknown, hitting a utility pole before crashing into a building. 

The Port Arthur Police Department officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Factors in the crash are under investigation.

Sgt. C. Billiot with the Port Arthur Police Department stated that on Sept. 28, at approximately 6:30 am, members of the Port Arthur Police SWAT and Narcotics units executed a search warrant at a residence in the 8400 Block of Davis Avenue in Port Arthur. A 41-year-old male Port Arthur resident was the target of the investigation. This subject had just left the residence prior to the search warrant being executed leaving behind in the residence and elderly female, a pregnant female and a young child.

Detectives in Orange are investigating a shooting that sent one man to a local hospital over the weekend, reports Orange Police Department (OPD) Lt. G.D. Keaton.

Officers from the OPD responded to the 1100 block of 11th Street at 2:50 p.m. on Sept. 16 in reference to a 9-1-1 call reporting “shots fired.” The caller advised dispatch that several shots had been heard in the area.

Police in Port Arthur are investigating a fatality crash that claimed the life of a 78-year-old Houston man Sept. 11, reports the Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD).

According to a news release from PAPD, officers responded to a major traffic accident in the 3500 block of S. MLK shortly after 9 p.m. Upon arrival to the location, officers discovered an apparently deceased male lying in the middle of the roadway.
