Demetrius Bernard Glenn

According to the Jefferson County District Attorney's office, Demetrius Bernard Glenn, 22, of Port Arthur pled guilty to murder on Monday, November 9, 2015, stemming from a June 6, 2013 double homicide in Port Arthur. In accordance with a plea agreement reached with prosecutors, Glenn was sentenced to 50 years in prison.

On Monday, October 26, 2015, at approximately 4:28 a.m., officers of the Port Arthur Police Department were called in reference to the burglary of the Good Times Bar, located at 3901 Hwy 73.

On Monday, October 12, 2015, at 9:52 p.m., officers of the Port Arthur Police Department were dispatched to the Westside Grocery at 1200 W. 7th Street in reference to an armed robbery.

 Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at approximately 10:13 p.m., the Port Arthur Police Department received a call from a 46-year-old female reporting she had been shot.

According to PAPD press release, initially the female did not know her exact location, but was able to give enough information to lead officers to find her near the 1800 block of W. Highway 73. She was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police in Port Arthur are searching for the suspect or suspects in a shooting that reportedly gravely injured one person at the Mr. Giggles pool hall and night club over the weekend.

On the morning of Monday, May 4, Port Arthur Police Department responded to the 6700 block of West Port Arthur Rd. in reference to a major traffic accident involving four vehicles.  According to a press release, upon arrival to the scene, officers discovered one of the drivers was trapped inside the vehicle and the jaws-of-life was required for extraction. After being removed, the 49-year-old Port Arthur female was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital via Air Rescue for treatment of her injuries.

Sunday, March 1, at 1:45 a.m., the Port Arthur Police Department responded to a report of a drive-by shooting in the 5200 block of 12th Street.. Officers arrived and learned that there were occupants inside the residence but none were injured despite several rounds penetrating multiple walls of the residence. Occupants of the residence were all inside when the shooting began and were able to give a limited description of the suspect vehicle involved. The incident is currently being investigated.

On Jan. 7, at approximately 1:41 a.m. the Port Arthur Police Department received a call from the Port Arthur Lounge located at 8136 9th Ave. in reference to a robbery, The employee advised that the business was closed when a subject, who had been concealed in the business, held her by gunpoint and demand money. The subject was able to rob the business of an unknown amount of money and fled. The employee was not injured during the robbery. Criminal District Attorney Cory Crenshaw announced in a July 17 press release by the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office that Port Arthur resident James Arceneaux, 53, has been found guilty of aggravated sexual assault of a child by a Jefferson County jury.
