On Dec. 21 at 9:33 p.m., Port Arthur Police officers responded to the Dairy Queen at 3010 39th Street in reference to an aggravated robbery that had just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a subject entered the restaurant armed with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot from the restaurant after obtaining an unknown amount of money from the register.

Port Arthur Police officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Memorial Boulevard in reference to shots being fired on Dec. 21 at 10:01 p.m.

On Friday, Dec. 23 around midnight, Port Arthur Police officers responded to a motorcycle accident at 8500 Memorial feeder road, PAPD Field Operation Sgt. Lam Nguyen said in a release.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive man in the grassy area near the roadway. "It was apparent that the subject was injured as the result of the accident," according to a PAPD statement.

UPDATE, 12/27/2016 at 8:00 a.m.: PAPD Major John Owens said in a release that an additional arrest has been made. A 44 year old woman was also arrested for alleged aggravated assault of a public servant and aggravated assault and family violence with a deadly weapon.

On Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 1:56 p.m., Port Arthur police officers responding to a 911 call discovered a 23 year old man shot in his upper arm at Louis Manor Apartments.

The victim's injuries are non life-threatening and he "could only provide limited information at this time," according to a statement from the Port Arthur Police Department. He was transported to St. Elizabeth's hospital for treatment.

Port Arthur police were dispatched to Villa Main Apartment complex on Dec. 8 at 10:55 p.m due to reported gunfire.

Officers discovered a man and woman had a physical altercation with other people in the apartment parking lot. During the incident, a man pointed a handgun at the 911 caller and shot his car multiple times as he was trying to leave the scene, causing him to hit several other cars in the lot. The suspect fled the scene prior to officer's arrival.

Port Arthur police officers were dispatched to a "strong arm robbery" at the Ideal Washateria and Gameroom at 1039 10th Avenue on Dec. 12 at 9:37 a.m.

Several Port Arthur first responders honored retired officer Thomas E. Baxter for nearly 40 years of service at Rose Place Senior Assisted Living on Wednesday, Nov. 30. The breakfast was honoring “Port Arthur’s finest,” PAPD Detective and canine handler Mark Holmes said in a release on Dec. 5.

Chief of Police Patrick Melvin, who took office in October, also attended.
