On Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at approximately 9:43 p.m., officers of the Port Arthur Police Department were dispatched to the 3900 block of 36th Street in reference to a robbery.

On Thursday, December 31, 2015, at approximately 2 a.m., a Port Arthur Police Department dispatcher broadcast via radio that an aggravated robbery had just occurred at the Crawdad's at 2440 W Hwy 365.

Statement from the City of Port Arthur:

Port Arthur Police Chief Mark Blanton is announcing his plans to retire December 31. Though he will be formally retired at the end of the year, he will remain on staff on a temporary basis while the search is underway for his replacement.

Chief Blanton said, “I am fortunate that I have grown up in law enforcement in this city. Everyone knows me and I have had great support from the community.”

At approximately 8:38 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015, the Port Arthur Police Department received a 911 call regarding an accident wherein the caller reported that a pickup truck flipped.

On November 10, 2015, at approximately 1:26 a.m., the Port Arthur Police Department responded to an aggravated robbery at BJ's Convenience Store at 1201 7th Street. 

According to a press release, a subject entered the store with a firearm and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk complied, and the suspect fled on foot. No one was injured during the incident.
