On March 28, at about 4:40 p.m., the Port Arthur Police Department received a call of a possible robbery in progress and a man brandishing a handgun, City of Port Arthur spokesperson LaRisa Carpenter said in a release. The suspect was then seen leaving the complex in a vehicle, and a description of the vehicle was given to officers.

The Port Arthur Police Department announced that effective March 21 Sgt. Kris Boneau is no longer on administrative leave and is returning to work at the department. 

"No disciplinary action has been taken against Boneau, and he is being reinstated with the PAPD as a result of PAPD's internal administrative investigation," Port Arthur spokesperson LaRisa Carpenter stated in a news release.

One of several Port Arthur Police Department officers placed on administrative leave pending an investigation has been reinstated effective March 20, reports city spokesperson LaRisa Carpenter. 

"Owens has been reassigned as a shift commander within the field operations division," Carpenter stated in an email. 

Prior to being placed on administrative leave, Owens was a major in the criminal investigations division at PAPD. He was demoted to lieutenant in field operations.

On March 15 at 3:19 p.m., PAPD Dispatch received a call from a homeowner regarding a burglary in the 3700 block of Rachel Avenue, Port Arthur Police Department spokesperson LaRisa Carpenter said in a release.

Several Port Arthur Police Department officers have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the results of an administrative investigation, City of Port Arthur spokesperson LaRisa Carpenter said in a release on Feb. 21.

On Feb. 15 at 3:04 p.m., Port Arthur Police Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call in reference to a shooting victim at Prince Hall Village Apartments, 914 W.14th Street, City of Port Arthur spokesperson LaRisa Carpenter said in a release.

Port Arthur police are still searching for a woman who hit a Port Arthur police officer with her car, PAPD Officer Michael Hebert said in a statement on Feb. 13.

A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted Joal Morgan Riley, 47, for aggravated assault upon a public servant, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office announced Feb. 8.

Riley’s indictment stems from an altercation Dec. 22. Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) reported a 911 call at 6:33 p.m. stating that an officer was being assaulted at Willow Lakes Apartments.
