Port Arthur Police released a reminder Tuesday, Nov. 6 that any one who suspects that they have an outstanding warrant can check online by visiting www.portarhturtx.gov/315/warrants.com .

The website allows you to search by name and any with an outstanding warrant can pay online at www.patrafficpay.com, however, you must have the citation number. Those who wish to pay by phone can call (1800) 444-1187.

A 28-year-old Port Arthur man was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital after being shot on Saturday, Nov. 4 in the 4100 block of 32ndStreet. According to a press release from Port Arthur Police Department, the victim is on critical condition. Port Arthur Police are investigating the shooting.

On Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, the Jefferson County grand jurors returned indictments against numerous individuals for alleged crimes that took place in the presence of a child.

The Department of Public Safety found the body of a woman who was reported missing earlier in the day on Wednesday Oct. 31. The body of 36-year-old Cherie Kay Trahan was found near Veteran’s Memorial Bridge on SH 87 and Port Arthur Police were called to the scene after discovery.

At 11:28 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 30, Port Arthur Police responded to a disturbance in the 1900 block of New Orleans Ave.

During the disturbance a 30-year-old female hit a 20-year-old female with a car. The victim sustained visible injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s hospital for treatment. After the investigation by Port Arthur Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, the suspect, Ausha McKayla Bonton, was arrested for Aggravated Assault.

The victim of a shooting at a laundromat in Port Arthur has been identified as 56-year-old male Michael Lynn Thomas.

According to Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD), Thomas was a homeless resident of Port Arthur. At approximately 1:47 am on Oct. 24 dispatch received a call regarding a shooting victim at Fabric Care Washateria on 25th  Street. Upon arrival, officers located Thomas with a gunshot wound to the torso area.

He was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

In the very early morning hours of Oct. 24th, Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) officers responded to a shooting at a laundromat located at 2925 25th St. Upon arrival, officers located a 56-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the torso area.

The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital from the scene for emergency medical treatment; however, the victim’s injuries proved to be fatal. PAPD’s Crime Scene Unit was summoned to process and photograph the scene for evidence.

Police in Port Arthur are investigating the fatal shooting of a 56-year-old man found on the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 24 in the 2900 block of 25th Street with a gunshot wound to his torso area.

According to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD), the victim was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital from the scene for emergency medical treatment; however, he did not survive his injuries.

Police in Port Arthur are searching for suspects after two armed robbers got away with cash stolen from a local convenience store on Oct. 19, reports the Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD).

According to Sgt. Heather Rowe, two armed male subjects confronted an employee who was closing the business, located in the 6700 block of West Port Arthur Road, and demanded money. The employee complied and contacted police after the robbery. There were no injuries reported.
