Port Neches Police Department released a statement Monday, June 11 reminding citizens about the ordinance regarding the operation of golf carts. This reminder comes after PNPD received numerous complaints concerning golf carts on city streets.

The Port Neches Police Department (PNPD) frequently gets calls from citizens about whether or not operating golf carts on City streets is legal, the deparment posted on their Facebook page. The answer is "yes" but with restrictions, PNPD said.

On Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at approximately 7:51 a.m., officers were dispatched to a major traffic accident in the 2700 block of Spur 136 in Port Neches. According to PNPD Chief of Police Paul Lemoine, upon officers' arrival it was determined that a 2015 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was eastbound on Spur 136 and had crossed the center lane and struck a 2006 Ford tow truck that was traveling westbound on Spur 136.
