Santa to a Senior

‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ campaign offers holiday joy to area seniors

Over 5,000 Southeast Texas senior citizens who otherwise might be forgotten this Christmas season will receive gifts and companionship through the seventh annual “Be a Santa to a Senior” program. The Meals On Wheels Program, senior organizations such as The Foundation for the Betterment of Seniors, and area retailers are partnering with event sponsor Home Instead Senior Care to brighten the lives of senior citizens in Orange, Jefferson, and Hardin counties.

While we harbor no disrespect for the Wall Street Journal who called us “that scrappy little paper from Southeast Texas,” we prefer to think of ourselves as simple seekers of the truth.
