The Jefferson County Go Texan Committee, a subcommittee of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, will announced its annual scholarship recipients Tuesday night at Courville’s in Beaumont. Rebekah Maxwell, Reaud Honors College Coordinator at Lamar University, was the featured speaker.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Employee’s Association has announced the 2017 recipients of the Ray Family Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who are the children of sheriff’s office employees and plan to attend college. The scholarship was created in memory of Capt. Tom Ray and his daughter, Blair Ray. All proceeds for this scholarship are raised by association members. Each recipient will receive $400.

Marcus Johnson and Julianna Poyotte, representatives from Gexa Energy, visited Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School on March 20 to present a $1,000 scholarship to senior, Makayla Dyer, according to a press release from LCM CISD Community Relations Coordinator Sherry Combs.

CommunityBank of Texas has created an annually funded scholarship to support students at Lamar University.

The Crime Stoppers Larry Beaulieu Scholarship Presentation Ceremony will be this Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Beaumont Police Station training room. 

The scholarship was created to support the education and development of sons and daughters of area law enforcement officers and to honor the visionary leadership of the agency's founding chairman, Mr. Larry Beaulieu.

The Officer Bryan Hebert Memorial Foundation will host a fish fry fundraiser on Thursday, June 25 at Performance Car Audio in Beaumont.

For $10, guests can purchase a fish plate served with hushpuppies, fries and a bottled water. Dine-in and drive-thru pick up services will be available from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Proceeds from this benefit are used to provide full paid scholarships for cadets to attend the Lamar Institute of Technology's Regional Police Academy in honor of fallen police officer, Bryan Hebert.
