sexual assault of a child

Orange police have arrested a 28-year-old Orange resident who they say admitted to having sex with a juvenile runaway who was staying at his home but said he did not know she was underage. While police concede that may be true, his Facebook page tells a story of its own, revealing a man on the prowl for sexual satisfaction.

A man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexual assault of a child, Criminal District Attorney Cory Crenshaw announced in a Tuesday, July 29 press release.

A Jefferson County jury was about to begin hearing evidence in the case when Rodney Adams, 37, entered a guilty plea in the 252nd District Court.

Criminal District Attorney Cory Crenshaw announced today that Port Arthur resident James Arceneaux, 53, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison by a Jefferson County jury.  The same jury convicted Arceneaux yesterday for sexually assaulting a six (6) year old child in his Port Arthur home, on or about June 29, 2013.  The trial was held in the Criminal District Court, Judge John Stevens Jr. presiding.
