On May 18 at about 2:30 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to the 1700 block of E. Cardinal Drive in reference to a report of a robbery in progress at the Exxpress Mart #28, Sgt. Cody Guedry said in a release.

On May 6, Beaumont Police officers responded to the 2500 block of Broadway Street in reference to shots being fired inside a residence, Sgt. Cody Guedry said in a release.

Investigation revealed that a male victim was found inside with gunshot wounds.

Officers with the Beaumont Police Department conducting a warrant sweep through the city June 22 arrested a total of 49 people for outstanding city warrants Wednesday, Sgt. Cody Guedry reports.

It’s that time of year again — Winter Warrant Round-Up time — which means it’s time to take care of any outstanding fines or warrants, or go to jail.

“This is a multi-agency effort,” BPD spokesperson Sgt. Cody Guedry said at a press conference Feb. 3. “We’re targeting thousands of defendants.”

Guedry said officers from all over the area are going to be participating in the effort from Feb. 22-28, looking for folks who owe fines for warrants, ordinance violations, traffic citations and more.
