Police in Beaumont are investigating the homicide of a Beaumont man found dead of a gunshot wound April 15, reports the Beaumont Police Department. 

According to Officer Carol Riley, officers responded to a call reporting a shooting victim at a residence in the 2100 block of Cable Street on Friday, April 15, at 7:17 p.m. When they arrived on scene, they found a man in the back yard with a gunshot wound to the back. EMS advised officers he was deceased, said Riley.

Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office are investigating the death of a woman they believed shot herself, OCSO Deputy Janois Strause reports.

Orange County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) investigators are still trying to sort out the details of a shooting that occurred Thursday, March 10, and say an arrest could be forthcoming. 

According to a news release from OCSO, deputies responded to 911 call in reference to a shooting at a trailer park in the 12000 block of Highway 62 North at 4:51 p.m. The caller told dispatch that a male subject had been shot and another man was still in the area with a shotgun.

A Beaumont police officer has been placed on administrative leave following a fatal shooting over the weekend, the Beaumont Police Department reports.

According to a news release from BPD, dispatch received a call in reference to an auto theft suspect at a residence in the 600 block of 23rd street just after 4:30 p.m. on March 5. Responding officers were advised that the suspect was armed.

A 24-year-old Mexico native was sentenced to prison in Jefferson County Feb. 29 for the murder of 25-year-old Port Arthur resident Denzel Washington. Jose Julio Esquivel was sentenced to 40 years for Washington’s murder, 20 years for a separate aggravated assault and 20 years for burglary of a habitation to run concurrently.

Investigators have arrested former Port Arthur police officer Chris Jeffries' fiancée, 47-year-old Ethel Marie Eulian, for murder after finding Jeffries' dead from gunshot wounds inside his home on Feb. 21, Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) Deputy Chief Raymond Clark reports.

Detectives with the Beaumont Police Department arrested a suspect in an early morning shooting that occurred Thursday, Feb. 25, BPD Officer Carol Riley reported.

According to Riley, officers responded to the 4100 block of Maida Road in reference to a victim of a shooting at 3:21 a.m. Upon their arrival at the scene, they located a 33-year-old black female on the floor of an apartment with an apparent gunshot wound to her top left chest. EMS transported the woman to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Police in Port Arthur are investigating a shooting that occurred in the city at about 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 27. According to a news release from the Port Arthur Police Department, two representatives of a local repossession company were fired upon as they attempted to collect a vehicle whose owner was behind on payments.
