Multiple vehicles have been burglarized in Groves, according to the Groves Police Department.

Seven vehicle burglaries were reported in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive on Dec. 16.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is still looking for the suspect that robbed the Cheek Grocery Store Dec. 9.

The Sheriff's Office is asking for the community's help in identifying the suspect, who is still at large.

On Sept. 27, at 10:11 p.m., Beaumont police officers responded to an aggravated robbery at Quality Inn on I-10 south.

During the latter part of the month of July, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies responded to numerous burglaries of residences in the north part of the county, Capt. Crystal Holmes said in a release. Residents came home to find that their houses had been broken into and various items including jewelry, money and firearms were stolen.

On Saturday, August 12 at around 12:15 p.m., Beaumont Fire dispatch started receiving calls that a house was on fire in the 4300 block of Ave A, in Beaumont’s south end, Capt. Jimmy Blanchard said in a release.

On Sunday, August 6 at 12:13 a.m., Beaumont Police officers responded to the 700 block of San Jacinto Street in reference to a victim of a shooting, Sgt. Cody Guedry said in a release.

UPDATE: Beaumont Police have identified the homicide victim as Brandon Keith Pratt, a 32 year old Beaumont man.

Monday, July 17, at about 12:19 a.m., Beaumont police responded to the 200 block of Rosine Street in reference to a victim of a shooting, Officer Haley Morrow said in a release.

Preliminary investigation reveals that two individuals were in front of a residence when they were approached by a man who displayed a handgun and attempted to rob the victims.

During the robbery, the suspect shot one of the victims, who was able to return fire. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries; it is unknown if the suspect was injured.
