Beaumont police officers responding to the Magic Touch Game Room at 3010 Washington Boulevard discovered the clerk was shot during an aggravated robbery Monday, Dec. 12.

One man was found dead and another seriously injured following an apparent shooting in the 2000 block of Longfellow Drive on Dec. 11, reports Beaumont Police Department (BPD) Officer Carol Riley.

The homeless woman killed in a hit and run on College Street has now been identified, BPD PIO Carol Riley said in a release Dec. 5.

"The victim has been identified as Bonnie Lee Casaneve, 67 year old homeless white female," Riley said in her statement. She added that the victim was struck while pushing a shopping cart.

The Smoke Shop on MLK Parkway was burglarized Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9:44 p.m., according to Beaumont Police, and one suspect is now in custody

Beaumont police are investigating a shooting in a neighborhood near Lamar University. Officers responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Bingman Drive on Sunday, Nov. 13. about 6:11 p.m, according to BPD PIO officer Haley Morrow.

Beaumont Police responded to a burglary at Mike's Drive In Grocery, 680 Buford Street, on Friday, Nov. 11 at 3:43 a.m., BPD PIO Officer Haley Morrow reports.

Officers responding to the scene discovered a vehicle, later determined as a white Chrysler Town & Country minivan, was used to ram the front doors of the business. Once entry was gained, the suspects unsuccessfully attempted to access an ATM. The suspects then burglarized the store and fled in the minivan.

A horse died of gunshot wounds that became infected, Beaumont Animal Services reports, and police are searching for the shooter.

A Beaumont Animal Control officer was called to the 1000 block of Pollard Street just off Pine Street on Beaumont north side to check on an injured horse Monday, Oct. 24. The officer found a one-year-old buckskin filly with what appeared to be .22 caliber bullet holes in two places on the right rear buttocks. The complainant told officers that the injury possibly occurred Sunday, Oct. 23.
