Veterans and supporters gathered at a variety of events celebrating service men and women in Southeast Texas on Nov. 11, and U.S. Congressman Brian Babin, 36th District, attended an event in Orange County honoring both veterans and law enforcement officers.

The 100 Club held its annual membership meeting and luncheon Thursday, Nov. 10, at the C.A. “Pete” Shelton Firefighter Memorial Plaza at 400 Walnut St. in downtown Beaumont, hosted by Chief Anne Huff and the Beaumont Fire-Rescue Services staff.

Corporate sponsors and supporters of The 100 Club of Southeast Texas helped the charitable organization raise funds toward its mission of supporting the families of fallen first responders by participating in the club’s first ever Golf Tournament and Corporate Lifetime Member Recognition Dinner.

The 100 Club of Southeast Texas received a check for $25,000 on Thursday, Aug. 18, from Martin Motors. The gift was a way for the automotive team to show its support for area police and fire personnel due, in part, to state and national events that have highlighted the importance of protecting and supporting all first responders, Martin Motors owner Danny Martin said.

You do not have to be a member of the credit union to attend this free event.

The forum, geared toward business leaders, will feature two keynote speakers along with other sessions that will empower individuals to become better leaders within their organization, said Tabetha Franklin, marketing director for Mobiloil Federal Credit Union in Beaumont.
