Texas Department of Public Safety has released the name of a woman killed in an accident that happened in front of the Pilot gas station on Highway 62 in Orange County.

39-year-old April Ranolls, of Orange, was driving southbound in a Chevrolet pickup truck when a Freighliner truck tractor pulled out from the Pilot gas station attempting to make a left turn and collided with the pickup truck at approximately 6 a.m on March 9.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) graduated four troopers and canines from an eight-week training program Dec. 5, 2014. These canine teams will join 44 other DPS teams stationed throughout Texas, including six explosive-detection teams stationed in Austin.
