UPDATE, Jan. 9 at 2:30 p.m.: Dec. 29, 2016, at approximately 6 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 327, near Clearlake Road, in Hardin County that killed 44-year-old Shahn Eric Waltmon of Silsbee.

Christopher Morgan, 31, of Vidor has been charged with intoxication manslaughter after a fatal auto-pedestrian crash on Concord Road in Orange County on Dec. 26, according to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

A blood specimen has been submitted to the crime laboratory and toxicology results are pending, DPS Sgt. Stephanie Davis reported Dec. 28. The investigation is still ongoing.

On Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 8:55 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a one vehicle crash on East Hamshire Road in Jefferson County.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 2001 Ford pickup truck was traveling eastbound on East Hamshire Road when the driver suffered a heart attack and drove off the roadway. The vehicle continued off the road and struck a utility pole.

A truck drove into a canal on Turner Road in Jefferson County on Wednesday, Dec. 7 around 8:15 p.m., DPS PIO Stephanie Davis said in a release.

The "1997 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling southbound on Turner Road" when the driver left the roadway, Davis said, but "the occupants were able to safely get out of the submerged vehicle."

One young woman died Sunday, Dec. 4 after a head on collision in Newton County, DPS PIO Stephanie Davis said in a release. Taylor Nicole Luther, 18, of Orange, was transported to St. Elizabeth's hospital by ambulance, but she did not survive her injuries.

A rollover caused delays this morning on US 69 in Hardin County. The accident on US 69 near Cooks Lake Road was reported this morning around 6:40 a.m., DPS Sergeant Stephanie Davis said in a release.

A 2006 Ford truck was traveling southbound on US 69 in Hardin County, according to initial reports mentioned in the statement. For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to rollover.

A Hardin-Jefferson ISD school bus crashed into a telephone pole on Old Sour Lake Road around 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

According to DPS, the driver of the school bus was attempting to make a right turn onto Patna Drive from Old Sour Lake Road but made the turn at an unsafe speed and lost control of the bus. The bus traveled off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

A two vehicle collision on FM 92 in Tyler County left nine people injured Saturday, Nov. 26, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a release.

Around 12:45 p.m., DPS received a report of a two vehicle crash on FM 92 in Tyler County. The crash occurred near CR 4925 in Fred, Texas.

UPDATE 11-23-2016: The man killed has still not been identified, but both Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave per department policy, according to the most recent statement from JCSO PIO Marcus McLellan. The Harris County District Attorney's Office and the Texas Rangers are conducting the investigation.
