A Vidor man has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter following a fatal June accident that claimed the life of a 72-year-old woman, reports Department of Public Safety (DPS) Sgt. Stephanie Davis.

According to Davis, 36-year-old Blake Travis Bowen was arrested the morning of Oct. 26 following the issuance of an indictment against him for intoxication manslaughter in Orange County.

On Sept. 26, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a head-on collision on FM 1013 in Tyler County.  The crash occurred five miles East of Spurger.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling eastbound on FM 1013.  A 2015 Ford Mustang was traveling westbound on FM 1013.  For an unknown reason, the driver of the Pontiac crossed the center dividing line and collided head-on with the Ford Mustang.

Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) are investigating an accident involving two motorcycles Sept. 24, reports Sgt. Stephanie Davis.

According to Davis, troopers responded to reports of a major accident on I-10 in Jefferson County near mile marker 834 at about 9 p.m.

No one officially knew where Christopher Drucker, a registered sex offender and convicted felon, was living until an investigation by The Examiner ensued. He is now residing safely behind bars at the Orange County Jail, and could face years in prison for violating his probation.

Neighbors living on Amaryllis Avenue in Orange say, though they received notification that registered sex offender and convicted counterfeiter Christopher Shaun Drucker is living on their street, he isn’t and has not been there for months.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a fatal weekend crash that claimed the life of a 38-year-old woman Aug. 18, reports Sgt. Stephanie Davis. 

According to Davis, troopers responded to a multiple vehicle crash on US-90 in Jefferson County at about 10:30 p.m.  The crash occurred approximately two (2) miles west of Beaumont.

Jessica Talmadge, 29, of Buna was pronounced deceased Monday, July 16 after being found on the shoulder of Highway 12 in Orange County on the morning of Saturday, July 14. 

According to a statement by Texas Department of Public Safety at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) received a report of an injured woman on the improved shoulder of Highway 12 in Orange County.

DPS Troopers responded to the area of Highway 12 and FM 1136.  Troopers located Talmadge lying on the westbound shoulder of Highway 12 with severe injuries.

At approximately 4:15 a.m., according to Sgt. Stephanie Davis of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), troopers responded to a multiple vehicle crash on US 96 in Hardin County, approximately 5 miles north of Silsbee.

Davis says preliminary information available indicates that that a Mack garbage truck was traveling northbound on US 96 when it was rear-ended by a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro operated by 25-year-old Justin Dwayne Smith of Silsbee.

On Monday, March 12, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will close the eastbound traffic lanes on SH 73, near Wilber Road, to reconstruct a fatal crash that occurred on Friday, according to DPS’ Sergeant Stephanie Davis.

All eastbound traffic lanes will be closed for approximately three hours with crash reconstruction beginning at 1 p.m., she advised.

“Motorists are urged to find an alternate travel route,” according to Davis. “Expect delays.”
