A missing Lumberton teen presumed to have run away from home was found safe in Jasper over the weekend, reports Lumberton Police Chief Danny Sullins.

Police, Texas Rangers and FBI agents searched for missing 14-year-old Alyssa Puffer for more than a week before catching up to her at a residence in Jasper. Her family told police she had last been seen March 22 and had not returned since then. Now, police report, the teen is back at home with her family in Lumberton.

Police in Lumberton, with assistance from the FBI and Texas Rangers, are searching for a 14-year-old girl believed to have run away from home, Lumberton Police Department Chief Danny Sullins confirmed.

Alyssa Suzette Puffer was last seen Wednesday, March 22, in Lumberton. Alyssa is approximately 5-foot-6 and 120 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. According to PL8PIC, www.pl8pic.com, Alyssa has different colored eyelashes on each eye, one blonde and one black, but uses mascara to make both black.

An armed man apparently attempting to escape arrest was shot and killed during a confrontation with officers Nov. 22, reports the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced Nov. 1 that Brad Weatherford had been promoted to Sergeant with the Texas Rangers.

Sergeant Weatherford, who previously served as a Special Agent with the Criminal Investigations Division in Austin, will be stationed in Victoria effective Nov. 1.

The Texas Rangers are investigating the death of an inmate at the Hardin County Jail who was found unresponsive in his cell following a public intoxication arrest on Aug. 27, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Stephanie Davis reported in a news release.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a woman whose remains were discovered in 2000 in Falls County, reports DPS. Based on multiple forensic analyses, investigators estimate that the woman died in the mid-1980s, or possibly the early 1990s.
