Friday, March 8, administration at the Beaumont Independent School District received information regarding a possible threat towards West Brook High School, spokesperson Nakisha Burns reported. The threat, according to Burns, was posted on social media.  

“The administration immediately responded and contacted the BISD police department,” Burns advised. “The student was not on campus but is currently in police custody.  

“We want to assure parents that safety protocols were promptly followed to ensure student safety.”

Police in Seguin, Texas, arrested an armed felon who threatened a Vidor church, Vidor Police Department (VPD) Chief Rod Carroll reports.

A Lumberton Middle School student was arrested March 8 for sending a threatening message regarding the school, Lumberton Independent School District Assistant Superintendent Gerald Chandler announced in a news release the same day. 

According to Chandler, the student was detained within a few minutes of the message neing received. No student was harmed, and the campus did not have to engage in a lockdown.

A crudely written message scrawled on the bathroom wall at Tekoa Academy drew a response from the Port Arthur Police Department, including evacuation of the school at 326 Thomas Blvd. in Port Arthur, but in the end it was just an early release for  Tekoa students.
